Cry, cry baby.

I'm going to watch a horror movie now. All by myself. At night. Wish me luck.

Go to bed.

(How you doin', sport?)

I can't. I'm staying up and listening to scary music instead of watching horror films.

Movie any good?

I'm fine thanks, and you?

(I'm okayish)

I listened to some scary music earlier. That album I bought is weird.

Movie's alright. Not too scary so far. Doing laundry, simultaneously. Also remembered I still have One Hundred Years of Solitude, so theoretically I could not go to Kyobo tomorrow...

Hm.

What is it about? I have to admit I wasn't interested in the movie until you said it was a horror flick.

I don't usually care for horror films, but I'm obsessed with this director. You should download it (it's widely available with English subs) and see for yourself -- it's just fucking beautifully shot. You can tell this guy just has a thing for seeing a world and making it, completely visually cohesive, down to the physical movement of the actors, or the way their hair falls.

Sorry.

It's called A Tale of Two Sisters, based on this Korean folktale: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Janghwa_Hongreyon-jon

But be careful what you read about it in summary. Don't want to ruin the ending.

I should say "loosely based". It's not really about that at all.

I've got that film. It's pretty excellent. I've seen a few decent Korean & Japanese films in the past few months, actually. I was pleasantly surprised by how good Korean cinema seems to be. I'd recommend Premonition by Norio Tsuruta, too, which is a Japanese horror film. And also Phone by Ahn Byong Ki, which is another Korean horror film.

Ugh. Don't recommend good horror films. I don't like them, but I can't resist watching.

Overactive imagination.

Yeah, you know I'm trying to learn more about Korean cinema/music, but it's not easy in English. No one in the Western world pays enough attention to Korea. I'll look into what you've recommended, even though I'll probably not sleep because of it.
