I have a Korean teacher, but I think I've learned more from listening to students and other Koreans talk. Watching English shows and paying attention to the Korean subtitles also helps, as does reading signs and advertisements (most are very short sentences).
Yeah the watching shows thing actually really helps, but I watch Korean shows with English subtitles. You've just got to pay attention.
Mostly I need a teacher because I always get to a point in studying where I have some question and then I have to take ages out of studying to try to figure out the answer on my own, when a Korean speaker could just answer it. Blah.

I ask students, co-workers or Korean friends for help. I'm shameless like that. The real long-winded questions, I save for my teacher.
