another reluctant expat
Mr. K took me to the buddhist temple in Incheon. I guess the big one. I was underwhelmed. Took some bad pictures. How did class today go?Wanna come over tomorrow for some movies?
I wanna go. Do you know how to get back? Probably not, with Mr. K's car....Class went really well. There was one guy who was acting out the whole time and he made it less awkward for everyone else. He was my "co-teacher" for the class. Also met a gyopo who seemed pretty nice. The teachers don't want to be there -- week long mandatory training on their vacation, and obviously it's not organized in any kind of way and doing no good. Seems like another thing higher-ups decided on and then had nothing further to do with, so it's pretty random. But it's good to all be in this together. It was a good class. And yes, I do. Also, could you burn the Godard you have for me before you go? Tomorrow will be it for us for three weeks... oh man.
I asked mr k if we could get there by subway, but alas, only buses. I can try asking him for directions but who knows how that would go.Well at least class went well. How many more days do you have?Three weeks. Christ. Let's attempt to get dinner somewhere here one last time.
Buses. Urgh. I guess we'll have to get into that eventually. Two more days. Not bad at all, unless they pull some stunt and have me teach doubles with a class I've already had. Tomorrow, after classes, I think I'm going to head into Seoul and try to find an English language guidebook for Paris. Then maybe I'll go to Java Shitty till you get off work. We can try to find dinner. It's really stupid that we can't find a decent place near you. I think we need to suck it up and stop being mousy. We'll manage it tomorrow. Anyway, I expect skype calls from NYC so I can tell you how delicious my kimchi is while you're gone.
Yeah. It would have been better there if I could have just wandered around with you, instead of mr k overly explaining things to me. But it was nice, and I got home early.I guess do you want to meet tomorrow around 530? the smoking pit for the last time?Burning movies nowI'll let you know how NY kimchi tastesWe'll have to coordinate skype times. Might not have internets at parents, but I will at Tasha's.
5:30 sounds good. If you're going home first (and I assume you are), why don't you give me a call on my cell just to make sure I haven't been caught on some horrible local train or something. Otherwise, I'll do my best to be there or be square. Yeah we could coordinate or you could just call me on my phone and tell me to get my ass on the computer. I'll be seatwarming all next week, so it's not like I'll be needing my sleep. Also, stop saying one last time. I'll see you in three weeks. No big deal. Eh.
I'm the magpie Liz. I have to be melodramatic.
